MAX MITCHELL is a comedian, award-winning filmmaker and writer living in Southern California. He has performed stand-up comedy in top clubs across the United States and his native Canada. Currently, Max hosts “Last Laugh Wednesday” at Oscar’s Palm Springs presenting stand-up comedy headliners the last Wednesday of every month.

Max started out as an actor, singer before writing many screenplays, stage plays and novels.

Max’s play Life Support was published in The Best American Short Plays along with plays by such distinguished playwrights as Steve Martin and David Mamet and was called “a tour de force achievement … and unforgettable” by the LA Times. Mitchell was a two time finalist in the Writers Film Project and received an Edward Albee Artist’s Fellowship and Canada Council.

He has written, produced and directed two feature-length film comedies now streaming on Netflix. His documentaries can be seen online at Vimeo or YouTube.

Max studied acting with the legendary Uta Hagen at HB Studio in New York, standup comedy with Stephen Rosenfield at ACI in New York and with Jerry Corley in LA.
